THE TEXAS CRYPTO LAW (HB 4474) Goes Into Effect

Hedera Hashgraph is part of the Texas Blockchain Council, and along with the council they are working deliberately to pass laws for crypto to provide more regulatory clearance to the industry and help projects build their applications and businesses more securely. Among laws in the process of being passed are ones related to digital identity and credibility of digital signatures anchored to the blockchain.

One passed today is the following:

UCC Amendment: Update the Uniform Commercial Code to better adapt commercial law to blockchain innovation and digital asset control.

Status: H.B. 4474 passed both the House and Senate and signed into law by the Governor! Goes into effect Sept. 1, 2021
